Why should you believe people who are warning you about Covid? Because in the 6 years since Covid has emerged they haven’t flip flopped, they haven’t moved away from the science, and they haven’t sold you out. They have stuck to the scientifically backed truth, and no matter how much ridicule they face they keep sharing that truth with the hope things will change and people will be safer. They do not enjoy this harsh reality but they won’t back down from it, there’s simply too much at stake. In the face of ridicule, divide, and ostracization they will keep coming back with more info, more truth, and more hope that we can turn the ship around and save people from more damage, sickness, and death. How can they keep it up? Why would they? Because when caring about others is your motivating ideal, you always find a reason to keep fighting, no matter how small that reason may be. When you care about others, as unpopular of an idea that may be these days, when you truly care about others, backing down from the fight is not even an option. As a species we didn’t get to where we are with all of the advancements and improvements that we enjoy by being selfish and greedy, and ignoring science and the truth. We created the good things we have because people wanted to help others, because they cared about making the world better, and they did it knowing that most of their work would benefit strangers, and people they would never even meet. Why wouldn’t you listen to people who haven’t given up on you? Who continue to tell you the uncomfortable truth no matter how mad you get at them, no matter how much ridicule they face. Why should you listen to them? Because they haven’t sold you out for personal comfort or gain, and they never will.

So, ahead of the next covid wave, can we all be absolutely clear on this: Covid is airborne. Each new covid infection adds to your risk of developing long term health problems. Masks work (n95+/FFP2+ ones). Can I get an amen?

This should be tattooed onto the palm of every "health correspondent": You're more likely to develop invasive meningococcal disease if you have low CD4 T cell counts. And you're more likely to have low CD4 T cell counts after a Covid infection.

Enormously massively huge studies have shown that each wave of Covid infections causes damage to people's immune systems. The science is incontrovertible. And yet you will not find a single media article about the current meningitis outbreak that mentions that.

@GBNEWS It’s as silly as saying socks (generally) don’t work to keep your feet warm, when we all know that thicker, better quality ones will work better than crappy threadbare ones.

@GBNEWS There are masks and there are masks! Telling people that masks (generally) don’t work is very misleading. It is important to make clear that FFP masks are highly effective against airborne pathogens.

Thank you @jim_reed Recognising the virus could spread in the air (like the virus that causes measles & flu) would have shifted schools from cleaning surfaces to cleaning air. We still can. We have the tools for less than 5p per child per day. 👉 portsmouth.co.uk/education/the-… 🧵

Let's have a challenge. Who can spot a news article or prime broadcast reporting #CovidInquiry findings that Covid was airborne and PPE inadequate? The BBC has wheeled out trusty Mr Triggle to moan about lockdowns. The Telegraph has dug up Prof Dingwall to drone on about anxiety.
