@AParkMind @ScottGustin The dynamite scene feels too “modern” to me and the gold scene at WDW feels like it would come out of 1980’s big thunder. While less happens, it thematically fits WDW better and there’s no outrageous projection mapping, as impressive as the effect is when it works.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Magic Kingdom has reopened, and Disney has shared a first look onboard video following the multi-month refurbishment. The video features the updated Rainbow Caverns scene and the golden finale.

Fun fact! A frequent issue at Splash Mountain in Walt Disney World was Brer Frog poking holes in his face with his pipe. Eventually his hand and pipe fell into the water. Due to this, an Imagineer made a new hand and pipe that had a flexible rubber stem with surgical tubing!

Does anyone else feel Space Mountain at Walt Disney World is borderline dangerous? It jerks, bangs, and creeks like a coaster that’s in desperate need of a total track update. (Just my feeling)

@KateFisher96 They've been doing this as far back as 20k, or any attraction that has closed for that matter. WDI goes in to archive whatever they want during week 1 of the closure, and anything that is left inside is usually scrapped. That's how it always goes sadly.

I have to ask, does any other piece of art get treated this way? First they did this red x stuff with Splash, then Tom Sawyer. To my knowledge, they don’t trash museum exhibits when they want to switch stuff out. Where else is this a thing outside of theme parks?

@GreenCheetah99 His face is also still the 1998 projection video just synced up with new audio lol you can tell some of the words don't match up.

Buzz’s audio in the queue is way too quiet and also his projector is a bit misaligned. The view-master toy is also looking pretty wacky by just spinning endlessly
