How wonderful to hear this update about how children at @SaightonPrimary are using what they’ve learned from the CEFAW project about what chickens need to flourish to engage successfully with the school’s caterer!

Is this is the oldest evidence of concern about cruelty to farmed animals? An Egyptian relief dated around 2000 BCE shows a cow shedding a tear that she is not able to suckle her calf (Pritchard, The Ancient NE in Pictures, 1954). 4000 years on, many more cows suffer this grief.
