As ever, I am deeply impressed by the dedication and collaboration that continues to drive justice forward. Thanks to everyone who took the time to talk with me and share their wisdom and insights on the exceptional work being done across our courts and tribunals. 7/7

Our team at Southwark Crown Court opened a new courtroom to expand the buildings’ capacity and increase the number of hearings that can be facilitated at any one time. A huge effort to get the new courtroom operational and functioning. 6/7

For us, September is award season. Earlier this month we joined other criminal justice partners in recognising our outstanding teams at the Inspire Justice Awards where I was fortunate enough to be invited to present an award to deserving winners including HMCTS colleagues. 1/7

It’s always inspiring to speak to committed and dedicated partners about how to best make improvements. 7/7

This month I’ve also met Baroness Newlove, @VictimsComm, and Nick Emmerson at @TheLawSociety, when we discussed efforts being made to address outstanding caseloads, our ongoing Reform Programme, and pilots and projects aimed at enhancing our legal system for all users. 6/7

It’s been a while since my last post, so I thought I’d share some updates on what’s been happening lately. 1/7

The Civil Service has now entered the pre-election period. This will last until the General Election concludes. During this time there will be restrictions on communications activity and Government social media accounts will be quieter than usual.
