Major bombshell from @Brett_McMurphy earlier today stating, ND - ACC partnership WILL end at some point. When it does, can ND survive as a total independent? Would B1G, SEC, or XII be willing to do a similar partnership? If not, does ND do the unthinkable and join a conference?

According to @CalAthletics 2024–25 financial report, the Bears received $22,798,373 in @theACC conf distributions (reduced T1 share, ACCN share, and non-media/bowl revenue). At the same time, team travel costs jumped from $10.3M to $14.3M in their debut ACC season, nearly 40% increase, driven by cross-country travel in the Eastern Time Zone. @Golden_Bearz @DidTheACCDie @TaylorTannebaum #Calgorithm

Not true in all neutral site games. Your statement would imply that the TX/OU game (played in Dallas) TV rights are not owned by the Big 12 when in fact they are. Same could be said about Florida/Georgia being played in Jacksonville. There are multiple neutral site games that are covered by conference TV rights deals.

As @mckenzielaw correctly pointed out, no conference owns these neutral site games or their broadcast rights. The rights that exist are the event operator’s right to control who has access to the game venue to create the broadcast.

In a broadcast dispute, the Big Ten has notified the ACC & ESPN that it believes it owns the rights of the Duke-Michigan basketball game set to stream on Amazon, sources tell @YahooSports. ACC, ESPN, Duke are aligned in the licensing of the game to Amazon bit.ly/4w0XU6l

For context, I believe the SEC will bring in $46.2 M of credits from the 25-26 NCAA tournament for having been in 22 games (assuming the price per credit is about $2.1M)

While CBB and the NCAA tournament doesn’t bring in the same kind of money football does, it still brings in non-insignificant money. Is it worth spending millions of dollars, which schools are already tight on, to leave and have no alternative or substitute for the revenue lost?

I know everyone is against expanding the NCAA tournament, including me. But hear me out; what if by expanding, and subsequently increasing the value, it makes it harder for conferences to break away from the NCAA by increasing their buyout for the tournament?

My question is as media deal value rises, at what point does the ROI flatten out or decline? And at what point does a different media contract have a better ROI? Or a significant amount of inventory is lost due to other competitors like streaming?

Sources: Texas Tech transfer quarterback Brendan Sorsby is checking into a residential treatment program for a gambling addiction. He’s under NCAA investigation in the wake of the discovery of Sorsby making thousands of bets via a gambling app. espn.com/college-footba…

@MrBeavv I seriously doubt UConn would join the Pac-12 in ALL sports, especially considering they left the AAC to join Bjg East in basketball

Why UConn to the Pac 12 makes sense: - Makes PAC 12 clear 3rd/4th best basketball conference - Scheduling stability and CFP access for UConn - CBS says Pac 12 needs another football school for 2027 - Increase media payouts for all parties - Door open for east coast expansion

This is how the new Pac-12 logo feels. Kind of a super old niche meme

Pac-12 shouldn’t have rebranded imo. Its basically admitting the conference has changed and negates some of the brand value the old logo had

@MattBrownEP I get your point but I am really curious to see how this plays out long term. No doubt there are schools spending millions they don’t have on NIL or various other athletic things. They’ll have to pay off debt at some point and it might totally cripple them. Or nothing happens 🤷‍♂️

The CFP has dropped a new, refreshed logo.  Many of the updates are subtle but what’s probably most noteworthy is the “CFP” added to the primary logo, clearly a move to integrate the three-letter acronym more into its branding.
