RIP Tony Godden. Sad to hear the passing of our former keeper. Tony made 38 appearances between 1986 & 1987. He will remembered for that night at Old Trafford when he saved two penalties 💙

Just got some more old programmes through the post. 80/81 season. I had genuinely forgotten that Barota captained us despite the likes of Mickey Droy and Johnny B were around! Why was that? Seems an odd choice in hindsight. 🤔

I have no idea what the point is of having a huddle over the centre spot and 'respecting the ball'. It's performative nonsense imo. But there is also no need for the ref to stand in the middle of it. What is he trying to achieve? Protect the ball? It enjoys being kicked! 😊

@thechelskikid Denis Rofe was captain for most of the 80-81 season. I don’t remember Borota being club captain

@CFCSweden1981 Yeah the 2nd half of that season was horrific! So why was Rofe captain and not Barota? Petar was the official captain of the club.

@thechelskikid Yes Borota played. I remember it because CFC fans arranged to meet at SB & travel together. It was the start of the promotion wheels falling off.
