The France squad heading to this World Cup might just be the most talented group we've seen since that incredible Brazil side at the 2002 Korea/Japan tournament. What makes them even more frightening is the depth they have, if someone gets injured, the quality doesn't drop, it just shifts. Think about it, they can take off Michael Olise and bring on Ryan Cherki. That's not a substitution, that's a luxury most countries can only dream of.

Honestly, I'm hoping Villa slip up today. A loss for them would be massive for us. Then on Thursday, as strange as it sounds, I actually want Villa to beat Forest in the Europa League semi-final. Here's why if Chelsea finish sixth and Villa go on to win the Europa League, we'd qualify for the Champions League through that route since Villa would already be guaranteed a European spot. That would be a lifeline for us. But if Forest knock Villa out, that door closes. Forest staying in the Europa League picture makes things so much harder for Chelsea, and at that point qualifying for the Champions League feels almost impossible. So right now I'm in the weird position of cheering against Villa in the league but cheering for them in Europe. Football does funny things to you sometimes.

United winning has really hurt our chances. Every game from here on out, we have to win no dropping points, no excuses. And even if we do win them all, we still need Villa to slip up along the way. That's a lot to ask. Looking at the games we have left, none of them are easy. Forest are still trying to make sure they stay up, but they've got a big Europa League semi-final against Villa coming up, so they might rest some players which could help us, but who knows. Liverpool are fighting for a top four spot just like us, so they're going to be fully motivated. Spurs are in a relegation battle and they've got a decent manager now, so you can't sleep on them either. Sunderland are probably the only side we should be getting something from, since they've got nothing to fight for. Basically, the next three games will tell us everything. If we can get through them, then the last game against Sunderland might actually mean something. If not, it's just another dead rubber to sit through. Being a Chelsea fan right now is genuinely painful. It shouldn't feel this stressful, but here we are.
