The CFL is such a critical piece of Canadian culture and history, but it feels like it is being robbed of what makes it special. One of my first articles was shortly after moving to the States for high school paper, about what an exciting CFL Playoff race there was.

Love the new playoff format. For those complaining 8/9 teams make the playoffs, the flip side is: A) every game matters as teams battle down stretch to get in/seeding B) can no longer advance to Grey Cup by winning only one playoff game C) top teams can earn two playoff gates

Hate to say it but this is how I feel about it. Hate the new playoff format. Like the idea of the CFL season starting earlier in May but I do not endorse this nonsense of the new playoff format. It feels like each team is playing 18 preseason games disguised as regular season.

Stewart Johnston went less than 5 minutes his first time speaking to the media as CFL Commissioner before talking about his love of flag football. Now the regular season is reduced to participation awards, raining on the CFL Draft Day. Let's not become the Clown Football League

I thought the CFL did a good job with the rule changes they announced last year. This new playoff format is awful and ruins the look of the league. Why play the regular season? I need someone to give me an explanation to how this is better than the current format.

A new era of Playoff football in 2027! ROUND ONE – TWO DIVISION SHOWDOWNS AND TWO PLAY-IN GAMES Division Showdown: The first- and second-place teams in each division face off. Winners earn a bye to Round Three (Grey Cup Semi-Finals) with home-field advantage; losers move on to Round Two (Elimination Games). Play-In Games: Teams finishing outside the Top-2 in each division are seeded Nos. 5-8, with No. 9 eliminated from playoff contention. The Play-In Games will see No. 5 host No. 8, and No. 6 host No. 7. Winners advance to Round Two, while losers are eliminated. ROUND TWO – ELIMINATION GAMES Division Showdown losers host Play-In Game winners with matchups based on regular-season records. Winners advance to Round Three (Grey Cup Semi-Finals) and losers are eliminated. ROUND THREE – GREY CUP SEMI-FINALS Division Showdown winners host Elimination Game winners with matchups based on regular-season record. Victors advance to the Grey Cup.

This is the single dumbest decision in professional sports history. This will lead to massive drops in attendance, viewership and revenue and will set the league back for decades Congratulations you just made the entire regular season irrelevant

A fairly shameless, and possibly ridiculous, money grab. Eight of nine teams make the playoffs, which has to be a pro sports record of some kind. Hope CFL players like playing a maximum of 22 regular-season and playoff games.

The @CFL has lost its way....these changes, especially to the playoffs, are very disappointing.
