BREAKING: 130 cross-party MPs and Peers co-sign letter led by CFI Honorary President Lord Polak CBE and Lord Mendelsohn, urging the UK Government to fast-track legislation to proscribe the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). They welcome confirmation that the Home Office is preparing legislation to proscribe hostile state agencies, including the IRGC. No timeline has been set, however, and the parliamentarians state: "With the situation in Iran deteriorating rapidly and the IRGC’s hostile activities continuing abroad, it is vital that this legislation be prioritised and brought forward urgently." "The European Union has taken decisive steps to proscribe the IRGC. Any delay of action from the United Kingdom risks leaving us out of step with our closest partners."

On Monday the Government published its social cohesion action plan. With 2025 seeing the second highest annual total ever recorded for anti-Jewish hate incidents, at 3,700, I asked the Secretary of State what action he is taking to protect British Jews.

British nationals, British assets, and our allies continue to be indiscriminately targeted by the Iranian regime. The Iranian regime pursues nuclear and ballistic programmes and sponsors terrorist proxies that attempt to destabilise the Middle East, these actions threaten us all. The world would be a safer place without the tyrants of Tehran.

The IRGC is a threat to the United Kingdom. Our allies have designated the IRGC as a terrorist organisation, why haven’t we? Conservatives will work with the government to proscribe the IRGC.

The events in the Middle East are a consequential moment for the world. Strong and consistent British leadership is required.

Antisemitism is on the rise. The Al-Quds protests and terror marches are helping fuel it. We need a shared British identity. The Conservatives are going to fight for that. We will root out the separatism tearing Britain apart.

These stats are completely shocking. We must do more to stamp out the vile antisemitism taking place far too often on uni campuses. The Govt must work with OfS to set clear timelines for dealing with incidents. If universities fail to crack down, funding should be removed.

“49 per cent of students had heard slogans or chants glorifying Hamas, Hezbollah or other proscribed groups on campus, while 47 per cent have witnessed justification of the October 7 attacks.” The normalisation of antisemitism by those on the left should shame us all. We’re now at a point where Jewish students are abused for their religion whilst there is open support for terrorists with impunity.

I heard some of these stories direct from students last week. It’s wrong that they’re frightened and persecuted in this way.

She talked about the UK's response to Iran. In her view, the Labour Party pandering to sectarian politics in order to save their seats in constituencies around the UK. The Al Quds march would have fanned the flames of hatred, hostility and antisemitism. That’s why I signed the cross-party letter opposing it. I am glad that the Met Police and the Home Secretary have listened to my concerns and those of many of my constituents.

CFI Honorary President Lord Polak: When Russia invaded Ukraine we were very quick to sanction individuals and freeze assets. What assets have we frozen of the late Ayatollah - including his office in Kilburn and the reported flats in Kensington?
