The changes were by pressure from their payment processor, Stripe, which had begun suspending approved campaigns over mature content. As a result, Kickstarter is removing the new guidelines entirely and returning to its previous simpler policy: projects may not include pornography or illegal content. Payment processors can still review and potentially block campaigns based on their own standards.
