@OkayMeanwhile Terrible to see the game being re-refereed like this.
English

On one hand… it’s nice to see North Carolina not get every call. On the other hand… these overturned calls/goals taken away… is absolutely disgusting for lacrosse and sports officiating in general. #ncaawlax

@RossingtonDC @dcunited I don’t think I have seen a softer penalty given in @MLS. How did that stand?
English

@tobyasky It's very funny that both the VAR and assistant were making the ref focus on the foul on Raya, Rice's grabbing of Mavropanos, and Trossard's holding of Pablo. But they missed the one on the far edge of the screen; Soucek's foul on Havertz! That should have also be considered.
English

After listening to the 4mins conversation between the VAR, AVAR, and the referee.
I really want to know why the VAR didn’t show the referee this angle?
The AVAR tried to tell the VAR, but he wasn’t interested, he then showed a useless angle to the ref.
TobyWrites@tobyasky
I need you guys to listen properly to the VAR interactions for the West Ham v Arsenal game. What did you observe when they talked about Trossard’s potential foul on Pablo? Tell me what you observed please😅
English

@UberWestHam Complete & genuine sympathy. It’s 2 penalties to WHU! The @FA_PGMOL cowardice to simply enforce the existing rules of the game against football is ruining the game. The team that’s best at bending the rules shouldn’t be the primary quality to be the champions.
English

@Rossdog91 @dwright75 @donhutch4 Look at Tomáš Souček on Havertz at the near post - that is the first foul.
Čeština

@dwright75 @donhutch4 Pen for foul by Rice at least? Refs and VAR are bottling it. Foul on keeper fair call but def a pen for all other fouls.
English

@JackRTompkins @dwright75 @tammutu Agree the lack of consistency is the issue here and must be addressed - For corner kicks, I support the suggested to require the attacking team to be outside the goal box until the kick is taken. This might not eliminate all of the grappling that takes place now but it’s a start.

@dwright75 @tammutu The controversy isn’t the goal being disallowed, it’s the inconsistency, it is a foul on GK, there are also other fouls in the box and have been all year, just get it right consistently !
English

@HammerWelling @dwright75 Watch Tomáš Souček wrestle Havertz to the floor before any of this …

VAR Saves Arsenal, Punishes West Ham and Leaves PGMOL in the Dock open.substack.com/pub/itwasalway…
English

@adrianjones1975 @AwayDaysFB It is both clear and obvious so VAR was correct to ask Kavanagh to take a look. I agree the league and PGMO need to make it a point of emphasis to eliminate the grappling in the box from set pieces and consistently enforce this from the start of the season.
English

@AwayDaysFB It’s hard to disagree with you on this. I think it’s a foul, but it’s not clear and obvious. The problem is it’s a subjective decision and we have seen many of these go for and against the GK this season - consistency is needed….

@LozNorthon @kimmoFC Striking - An act where a player attempts to hit, hits, or makes forceful contact with an opponent or another person using the hand, arm, elbow, head, knee, foot, or an object.
English

@kimmoFC A wack across the bag of the leg with his forearm? It was hardly career threatening. He got a yellow. Live with it, grow up, move on and maybe focus on what Arsenal need to do to win the PL ather than spending so much time and energy on the minor infractions of City.
English

@LAGr_VXVX Should be thanking the referee for the first yellow! Bizarre decision …
English

@nocontextfm1 @themagic_tophat Just proves that Arsenal are refereed differently - even in the UCL!
English

@Petahsamwise17 @WelBeast You are the one crying about Arsenal - just be consistent when you whine.
English

@Tuhaisedgar @WelBeast It was clearly not a clear and obvious error on the part of the referee. No way VAR should have gotten involved in re-refereeing the match.
English

@litimothe @Mo_Arsenal9 100% ridiculous post - tell me when in the LOTG it says he has to be in possession.
English

@Mo_Arsenal9 I'm being 100% honest here
If he takes that in his stride, then you'd actually have a point
The ball rolls across him, and it's never a card cause he wasn't in possession at any point
