@CountyofTulare #CACounties are urging #CALeg to restore or replace funding for indigent care programs and create a sustainable, structural funding solution. One option discussed: a state-run program providing limited emergency services to help bridge individuals back to #MediCal coverage.

@CountyofTulare When the ACA expanded #MediCal, the state redirected realignment funding that previously supported county indigent care programs. W/O restored funding, counties may need to rely on general funds to cover indigent care — potentially forcing cuts to services like Sheriff or Fire.

Now testifying: Jason Britt, CAO for @CountyofTulare, speaking on the impacts of H.R. 1 and potential Medi-Cal coverage losses on county indigent care programs. Mr. Britt previously directed the county’s indigent care program before the Affordable Care Act.
