2024 was another impactful year for the @rogerfedererfdn. We rolled out our Data Capturing and Information System, helping us better track each child’s progress in the School Readiness Initiative. This innovation is shaping how we support early learners across Southern Africa.

Today, we're opening a new Request for Proposals in Biosecurity. Broadly speaking, we want to support work aimed at preventing engineered biological threats from emerging and improving our response should prevention fail. 🧵

.@coeff_giving directed over $1b in 2025, the most in our history. I wrote a more personal annual letter this year, focusing on what a decade of grantmaking has taught me, how I'm thinking about AI, and how we're grappling with giving at this scale. 🧵

In 2025, we set out to lay the groundwork for giving at a greater scale, and — as I told our team at an all-hands recently — I honestly think we crushed it. We increased giving by >50%; launched 2 new funds, rebranded to Coefficient Giving, and >2x’d money moved from new partners.

Some news: Open Philanthropy is now Coefficient Giving! Our mission is unchanged but the new name reflects our growing work with other donors to multiply the impact of their giving. 🧵 on our work to make philanthropy a more efficient "market" and plans going forward:

@UNReliefChief tells #HNPW whilst some progress has been made international actors need to stop marking local actors homework, cede more space to local actors in humanitarian leadership forums and think boldly about how best to get out of the way of local actors

The 2025 Safety Gate report showed a record number of alerts of dangerous products being flagged and removed from the market. Our system is getting better at identifying them thanks to: 🔸 Tougher bans on harmful chemicals in toys 🔸 Better monitoring of online shops
