Found the Pep passage referred to - all Liverpool fans should watch it👇. He said this in January ‘25 - right in the depths of City’s struggles last season. Much of what he says is what Slot has said this season. The key points: 1. Fast football is about personnel. “I couldn’t rise the rhythm because I didn’t have the players”.. 2. Says playing just once a week “doesn’t count”. The burden of playing 2x pw creates a unique injury load (true). Lots of popular managers models (Iraola, Hurzeler) aren’t proven at this level 3. Says he needs a bigger squad, which is a new learning after preferring small squads. Hughes & Slot need to learn this. Again, this isn’t a total defence of Slot. But the above are VALID mitigations for both failure AND not giving the football fans want (plus the PL’s 2026 dynamics). #LFC

Some people just hate the fact Mo Salah doesn’t just fall in line and give media trained answers, his attitude and will to win made him the great player he is, he has the highest standards of himself and the football club, if he’s speaking maybe people should listen instead of criticising him, he has nothing to gain from saying what he said, he knows he’ll get backlash, he could just get his big farewell and leave a legend but the future of the club is more important to him than that, maybe if the manager had those standards we wouldn’t have lost 20 games this season.

I have witnessed this club go from doubters to believers, and from believers to champions. It took hard work and I always did everything I could to help the club get there. Nothing makes me prouder than that. Us crumbling to yet another defeat this season was very painful and not what our fans deserve. I want to see Liverpool go back to being the heavy metal attacking team that opponents fear and back to being a team that wins trophies. That is the football I know how to play and that is the identity that needs to be recovered and kept for good. It cannot be negotiable and everyone that joins this club should adapt to it. Winning some games here and there is not what Liverpool should be about. All teams win games. Liverpool will always be a club that means a great deal to me and to my family. I want to see it succeed for long after I have moved on. As I’ve always said, qualifying to next season’s Champions League is the bare minimum and I will do everything I can to make that happen.
