Love having these four come in and challenge themselves. They ran this swing-decision drill on their own, taking the riseball and attacking the fastball, and it was great hearing them celebrate the good decisions and lift each other up when they missed one. I’ve been working with this group for a year, and beyond their swings, my main goal has been to push them and help them understand that real growth comes from being challenged, even when you fail. While they were working, I heard things like “it’s all mindset, once you see it enough you’ll recognize the riseball” and “don’t guess, be ready for the fastball and react to the riseball.” I was in the middle of a lesson, but hearing that fired me up.
