@acweyand I’ve helped folks on my faculty navigate this and you have to be intentionally protective of your time. Especially if you have a significant amount of non-clinical work— it is way too easy to fill up your week. Time block and say “no” to things are my best advice!

Those of you in academic medicine who are less than 1.0 FTE, what does that look like? Do you actually do less work or just get paid less? Did you get rid of things when your FTE decreased?
