@VP Student debt forgiveness for public service workers is a step in the right direction. Teachers, nurses, firefighters, and so many others dedicate their lives to serving our communities. This relief recognizes their sacrifice and helps them build a stronger financial future.

With today's announcement, President Biden and I have now canceled student loan debt for over 5 million Americans. As the Attorney General of California and a United States Senator, I stood up for students and fought to ease the burden of student loan debt. I have been proud to continue that work to create economic opportunity as Vice President of the United States.
