Jane. With profound grief, we share that Jane McAlevey (1964–2024) passed away. This is a big loss to the labour movement internationally. A ground breaking labour organizer and internationalist, she also led the RLS’s Organizing for Power. Rest in power Jane!

CLRA and RLS organised a multi stakeholders workshop on seasonal migration from tribal areas into Gujarat on 19 March at AMA. Dissemination of research study on tribal migration and inclusion of migrant workers' issues in the political agenda were major themes.

On March 8, CLRA's Ahmedabad team hosted a screening of #LaapataaLadies for 31 women from the city's bastis, marking #InternationalWomensDay2024. Addressing issues like ghunghat, dowry, and child marriage in our deeply patriarchal society, the film resonated strongly with us all.

They went to congress to testify on how they can make their campuses protected from the spread of Antisemitism and to reassure the Jewish students on their campuses that they stand with them and have their back. They could’ve easily accomplished that, instead they went in the straightjackets of their lawyers briefs and talking points and completly forgot about why they went to Washington. This day will be their forever moment and will decide their fate as leaders.

America’s top universities should abandon their long misadventure into politics, retrain their gaze on their core strengths and rebuild their reputations as centers of research and learning. My take:

कल 22 सितंबर को गुजरात, राजस्थान, एमपी और महाराष्ट्र के 2500 से ज्यादा मजदूर गांधीनगर की सत्याग्रह छावनी में अपनी मांगों के समर्थन में एकत्रित हुए। मजदूरों की मुख्य मांग है कि सरकार द्वारा घोषित न्यूनतम मजदूरी का क्रियान्वन हो, और प्रवासी श्रमिको को निवास की मूलभूत सुविधा मिले।

मोदीजी,सांसद किरीट सोलंकी और गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री, निर्णयनगर,अर्जुनआश्रम उमीया होल बस्तीमें बसे आपके वोटर्स जो गरीब मजलूम मासूम बूढ़े बच्चे सगर्भा विकलांग बीमार लोगोके झोपड़े आपकी प्रशासनने तोड उन्हें रास्ते पर ला दिया हे। तत्काल उनका पुनर्वास कर रोटी कपड़ा और मकान दीजिए।

ये घटना एक बार फिर महिला खेत मजदूरों की बेबसी और असुरक्षा उजागर करती है।ऐसे सभी क्षेत्रों की पहचान कर वहां कार्यस्थल पर यौन हिंसा कानून के तहत कमेटी बनाने की जरूरत है
