I don’t think we talk enough about magnificent frigatebirds here, they’re genuinely the closest thing we have to real life wyverns

Oilbirds (Steatornis caripensis), fascinating nocturnal birds native to South America. They are the only flying, nocturnal fruit-eating birds in the world, specialized for foraging at night. These birds nest and roost in large colonies inside dark caves, often clinging to ledges.

Eduardo Valdés-Hevia 👁️
The Sorcerer is a divisive piece of cave art. Henri Breuil found and sketched it in the 1920s, claiming it's the first depiction of a god, but many argue his drawing doesn't reflect the weathered paint. Yet some say it depicts something the people of this cave worshipped, feared.

Scientists believe these enormous tunnels in Brazil were dug by giant ground sloths that roamed South America thousands of years ago. Some species of giant ground sloths could grow over 20 feet long and weigh several tons, making them among the largest land mammals of their time. Their huge claws were likely used for digging, pulling down vegetation, and defense.

@BestCryptids I bought this book, and to be honest, I was drawn to its subject matter. It features many little-known cryptic animals, but I really doubt how reliable it is.

Wedge fish, a type of ray with a pointed, shark-like snout. These creatures are sometimes called Rhino Rays due to their unique, pointed snout. They are actually rays, not sharks, and belong to a group sometimes referred to as guitarfish. These are listed critically endangered.

@Molice 其中一篇与长有后肢的鲸鱼相关的文章在《A REMARKABLE CASE OF EXTERNAL HIND LIMBS IN A HUMPBACK WHALE, BY ROY CHAPMAN ANDREWS. AMERICAN MUSEUM NOVITATES, Number 9 June 3, 1921》(digitallibrary.amnh.org/items/994d4d89…)
