@CMPiagentini This is definitely a tragedy, however, the city should not be responsible for her negligence. Negligence she was hidden and asleep

@pamemerson13 I am not sure you know the circumstances here. For example, by that explanation I could sue the city if a city truck hit me while I was sleeping in the middle of the street and under cover.

@CMPiagentini My layperson answer: Ms. Adams has a right to be on public property with out being harmed. Family council will have many more.

@CMPiagentini @Boomerseven The fact that Jefferson, Pike, McCracken, Owsley, Warren, Hart, and Greenup are all limited to the same 3 tools to try and fund the legally mandated services is ludicrous.

@treswatson @Boomerseven Agreed. I am about to be very public about the need for local tax reform. If the state allowed Jeff County a 1% sales tax we could eliminate our property tax and start reducing our Occupational tax immediately.

@CMPiagentini @Boomerseven People don't like taxes. Problem is, counties only have three options, property, insurance, and payroll taxes. And the general public doesn't understand the complex nature of local jail funding

@smarkreilly Serious follow up. If I am driving west on 64 or 71 and am passing through, I would need to get off and take local roads to get back on 64 in the west end? Does the highway just break at that point?

Election for Mayor: Which candidate has a bold vision to revitalize Louisville? Who has the bravery to reconnect West Louisville and eliminate the 9th Street divide? Who can restore our waterfront? Who can protect children and seniors from extreme pollution?

Because most of the new ideas in academics are actually making kids dumber. I have seen it myself and it isn’t only public schools also. Eg. If a kid can’t read or do math at grade level, double up those subjects until they can.
ABC News@ABC

A new report released Wednesday suggests students in U.S. schools are performing worse than their peers a decade ago, and it isn't entirely due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. abcnews.link/V6rlk1d

@pamemerson13 @smarkreilly Metro property tax rates are the lowest they have been in almost 25 years. Assessments are being done that increase property values but tax rates for Metro are decreasing. JCPS is the majority of your property taxes.

@smarkreilly Not sure I am tracking the question. What is your definition of “fare”? It was an acknowledgment that the relationship is symbiotic. It would immediately transfer a lot of tax revenue to the suburbs where it is generated.

@Sasha_CA These are averages. And even today over 50% of high school grads get married and they are wealthier than their single counterparts. Apples to apples it is always better to get married.

@CMPiagentini That's to a large extent the result of who gets married and who doesn't. College-educated professionals get married; working class and especially poor ppl are MUCH less likely to marry.

@earlbell312686 Men who have kids work more and make more money than men without kids. That is shared with the family and results in greater wealth including for his wife.

No. Cohabitation is a failure and many young people were lied to about it. Median Net Worth Comparison For young adults (ages 25–34), the wealth difference is particularly stark: • Married Couples: ~$68,210**  • Cohabiting Couples: ~$17,372**  • Single Individuals: ~$7,341**
Jason Carleski@jasoncarleski

@CMPiagentini Isn't this ~approximately offset by cohabitation, though? budgetmodel.wharton.upenn.edu/p/2025-02-18-c….
