Kids got shot at the super bowl parade just a couple of days ago and we never talked about it again and that's how you know there's no amount of dead bodies that will ever result in common sense gun laws

Guns silence thousands of lives every year. "The Shotline" was created to bring these voices back using AI technology in order to call our representatives. I just placed a call to @SenToddYoung using one of these voices, and you can join me. theshotline.org

Great Love is Love event with @INStonewall! Hoosiers deserve to love who they want to love. Marry who they want to marry, and be who they want to be. As your next governor, I will protect these rights and freedoms.

A TX man slipped abortion pills to his wife &severely damaged the fetus. He got sentenced to 180 DAYS & got to keep his law license. If she had taken the abortion pills voluntarily, she would have been charged with MURDER. This is about controlling women.

@MFullhart If he's frustrated, confused, or isn't familiar with a major genre of book, why doesn't he just quit? It's ridiculous that he's allowed to be on a board when he is so unfamiliar with the subject matter.

Maddalone wants to get a post action report from the reviewers of the books. Most were temps who are no longer employed. Waterman states that the policy was binary. Either yes or no. Maddalone is getting frustrated and it shows.

@johngreen Talk of Manga books. They are already moved to a separate location. Maddalone wants all graphic books moved to a separate section. Note: Maddalone doesn’t seem to understand that graphic novels aren’t all sexually graphic.

"The four of you with this policy are going to be responsible for the death of a child in this community." -a doctor giving public comment, referring to the detrimental affect (suicide) of limiting access of LGBT books to teens 💯

"Give us a clear policy and we'll do our best to implement it." -HEPL's head librarian Board Pres is now saying a body needs to be named. If enacted, many books would be moved back to the youth section per librarian. This isn't just about The Fault In OUR Stars not In THE Stars*

@Rachel_Fradette @indystar “We are not looking to move books with cuss words,” but rather those with explicit sexual content, Beckwith said. - Somebody needs to read his own policy. Appendix A literally lists cuss words that would result in the book being moved.

4 members of the @HamiltonEastPL have made a mess of the library's collection, ruined it's reputation and now is in back peddle mode so they don't have to admit they wrote a policy that's poorly defined. Those 4 brought all of this on. The Fault In Our Board lies with those 4.

@johngreen @indystar The board president has called this book The Fault In THE Stars the entire meeting thus far. Can't even get the title of the book that has been in all the headlines right

More great reporting from the @indystar on the ridiculous situation in Fishers and Noblesville libraries. indystar.com/story/news/loc… Tomorrow, the board will meet to discuss the future of The Fault in Our Stars. In doing so, they should acknowledge that my book IS in violation of their (ill-advised, poorly written, reprehensible) policy. The very people who wrote the policy are trying to blame others, but the problem isn't books or librarians--the problem is the policy. Rescind it tomorrow, or the embarrassment will continue--which will only harm Hamilton County and readers everywhere.

If the policy is updated to define only moving books that describe "one body part going into the other", most of the moved books would go back to thier original place in the youth section. So how many more taxpayer dollars are we going to blow moving books back and forth?

So @HamiltonEastPL board put a policy in place that even they didn't clearly define and now are mad that a moved book made national news and are back pedaling because they want to pin it on the staff that were following said poorly written policy. Do they hear themselves talk?
