What we're missing is a ‘Social Deal’ on the same level as an ‘Industrial Deal’ to ensure not only industry manages the transition but households and people are at the core of all policies. One good element is an Action Plan for Affordable Energy Prices for households & companies

OMG, it is happening! With the European Parliament rejecting the #EnergyCharterTreaty and the @EU_Commission anouncing they will propose a coordinated withdrawal, it is up to EU Member States to back this and #ExitECT!

@climate_trade @EU_Commission @VDombrovskis Do you happen to know more about the period of 20 years after the withdrawal in which the treaty regime will continue to apply? The periode is considerably long compared to other withdrawal periods (eg tenant law) and arguably tied to the characteristics of infrastructure.

🤨 Good news @EU_Commission is edging towards #EnergyCharterTreaty withdrawal. But seriously, they haven't done a legal analysis?! Member States have been demanding one for ages and @VDombrovskis said over a year ago that withdrawal is an option. No time to waste! #ExitECT

Great: A Dutch court finds no reason to compensate companies that had the brilliant business sense to build coal-fired power stations in the 21st century. In parallel, these companies are still trying their luck in private arbitration, suing via the #EnergyCharterTreaty. #ExitECT
