Last tweet - if our defence is so important @labour put up taxes. Be honest.

After flirting with X for years am now quitting and deleting app. @elonmusk is deluded and Trump is a dangerous bully.
I used to believe that good overcomes evil. Now not so sure.

Looking at my emails today: two messages from teachers in schools where the students and staff are being terrorised and assaulted by very small groups of highly challenging children; in both cases the behaviour policy leans hard into restorative approaches, and in both cases the culture is chaotic and unbearable. Hospitalisations, endlessly disrupted lessons, teachers’ whole days devoted to containing a minority of students.
This is the fruit of an approach that centres well-meant therapeutic strategies, replacing boundaries and consequences, rather than augmenting them. The people who decide this are the ones who will never have to face the consequences of their policies. But they get to feel virtuous.
And no one is interested in these schools. The only ones that the crusading journalists can see are the ones trying to keep children safe.

@tombennett71 Gosh well if you say it is a great school then who can argue. You do know what you sound like don’t you?
English

Can confirm: an amazing school

I spent the day at @CDPS_Southwark today and it’s so good that I almost cried. It was lovely to lead a group of some of Wales’s finest primary leaders and reflect on what we saw. The standard in writing books was off the scale, but we were also wowed by their expression in art.

@garethkthomas Teacher response to poor quality COD session - talking, using phones, loud yawning, lot of going to toilet.
English

@garethkthomas As a dormer Head I used to see so many instances of poor behaviour of young people that could have been avoided if staff had behaved differently. This didn't excuse the poor behaviour but better to have avoided it in the first place.
English

@garethkthomas Which means that a relationship model can help improve behaviours in a school but is entirely consistent with "firm and fair" sanctions etc.
English

@garethkthomas Reading the comments and feeling sad. Relationships are at the heart if how we all behave to each other. Knowing this helps and can help improve behaviours. But doesn't remove the fact that there are also consequences to behaving in certain ways
English

@garethkthomas @ShakinthatChalk They will revert back to sanctions within 6 months or as soon as they realise that this ideology is exactly that. Staff will start leaving, chaos in the corridors, etc etc.
Have a listen to this by me and Sam @Strickomaster

@HarrietSergeant I had never heard of you. Why do you express yourself in such an unpleasant and patronising way? What an arrogant and unpleasant way of behaving .
English

@BarryNSmith79 The issue is that you can do all these things but with a very different underlying set of beliefs etc etc. also - just explain the admissions policy.
English

@ShakinthatChalk Blinking heck. Do what works for you and facilitates the best learning. Sometimes it will be rows, sometimes groups, sometimes outside, sometimes .... do what works!

Margaret Thatcher would have viewed Keir Starmer as a socialist charlatan destroying Britain.

@LeeAndersonMP_ But you do earn a lot from outside interests don't you? Don't pretend you are a man of the people.
English

I don't have a second home and there is no wallpaper in my only home. Is there something wrong with you?
Candice Holmes@hol40900
@LeeAndersonMP_ Ah, yes! 'Wallpapergate' Wednesday! 🤣 Remind us again, Lee, how much taxpayers' money you wasted on designer wallpaper for your second home? 😂#PMQs

US has already landed two planes with illegal migrants in Colombia, Can #donaldtrump give some advice to @Keir_Starmer on doing the same here

You know, there is only one logical, albeit lunatic reason why a government might deliberately hamstring its country’s commercial and economic potential and reduce the wealth of its population, from having the sixth highest GDP in the world. That is if that government is run by what one might call a ‘fundamentalist (extremist) global socialism movement’. In other words, it seeks to dum down the wealth of its own nation in order to level out wealth differentials among nations globally. It’s only a thought, but I hope to God it’s not correct.
