Kilifi County, #Kenya: @COEC_MSA joined the Kenya-EU Preventing & Countering Violent Extremism Forum, strengthening skills to challenge extremist narratives & elevate trusted community voices. From #crisis comms to creative #storytelling, COEC is turning insight into action.🗣️

3 days of engagement. Diverse voices. One shared responsibility. Over 40 stakeholders from national and county government, media, creative arts, influencers, and civil society convened in @KilifiCountyGov to deepen a shared understanding that clear, ethical, and responsible communication is critical in preventing and countering violent extremism, addressing harmful narratives, and strengthening community trust. Implemented under the Kenya–EU partnership and aligned to Kenya’s #PCVE Strategy 2025–2030, the Communication and Media Stakeholders' Capacity Building Forum strengthened skills in planning and implementing effective PCVE campaigns and responsible messaging. In her presentation she stated clearly that by addressing challenges of Electoral process like political polarization, socioeconomic inequality and weak rule of law-African countries can work towards creating more peaceful inclusive and democratic elections

Our ED Ms. @halulet joined other Pan African Members on a panel to discuss conflict sensitive and Right Based Electoral preparedness in Africa. Her discussion was based on women inclusivity and persons with disability on accessibility and participation on electoral processes.

This afternoon, participants from across Africa came together to share insights on conflict-sensitive and rights-based electoral preparedness in Africa. The panel featured Halima Mohammed (Executive Director, COEC), Mr. Vitali Maembe (Tanzania Civil Society Advocate), Ruth Kangwa (Girls Gone Political, Zambia), and Hilder Achiro (Civic Advisory Hub, Uganda). Their voices emphasized the need for inclusive, people-driven solutions to safeguard democracy and promote peace across the continent. #PeopleCenteredSecurity #PanAfricanConference #forHAKI #DemocracyInAfrica #HumanRightsAfrica

5️⃣ Kilifi County, #Kenya: @COEC_MSA & local land stakeholders convened to address compulsory land acquisition & inadequate compensation—seeking solutions to #protect agricultural land & prevent food insecurity.

Rolling out Public participation roadmap with @KilifiCountyGov department of lands for #LandPolicy2025 @FAO @EUinKenya @KenyaGovernors @GideonMungaroM

Kilifi County Land Policy Draft 2025 will ensure the squatters are settled and will introduce #LandFund that will support absentees landlords through land banking @FAO @EUinKenya @KilifiCountyGov @GideonMungaroM @KenyaGovernors @HakiAfrica @HakiYetuOrg

@COEC_MSA held breakfast meetings together with @FAO implementing partner's @HakiAfrica @HakiYetuOrg with @GideonMungaroM and the @KilifiCountyGov @HonMbetsa with department of Lands to strengthen land governance by handing over Draft Kilifi County Land Policy 2025. @EUinKenya

Kilifi County, #Kenya: Supported by ICAN, @COEC_MSA conducted a 2-day training for the rapid response counseling team, to improve their capacity to support those affected by violent extremism.

This collaborative meeting was also centered around the creation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two entities and the development of a detailed work plan for the public participation @FAO @EUinKenya @KilifiCountyGov @KenyaGovernors @HakiAfrica
