In addition to the FREE data we post (and will continue to post) on here & IG, we wanted to take a moment to highlight our 1 paid product we offer. We will research a specific college program and provide you with a 2-page infographic on that program's recruiting and playing-time strategies (see below for example). The recruiting process is already so confusing and difficult, so we believe in relying on DATA to help guide your decision-making. Do your research on these programs before you spend hundreds on ID Camps or waste time emailing schools who you realistically have a very low chance of being recruited by... We charge 15$ for 1 team, and 30$ for 3 teams, which we believe is fair because it takes us around 1 hour to research each program, and still way less expensive the 90% of recruiting services out there.... Head over to payhip.com/collegesoccers… to have us research a program for you!

@SteveCoxonCSN "Trying to force a door open, that was already locked" Great perspective into targeting the schools based on roster needs and their history of where they look to recruit!

The hardest part of my old job as a D1 recruiter wasn’t finding talent. It was watching incredibly hard-working players show up to our ID clinics when I already knew—just by looking at their resumes and film —that they weren't the right athletic fit for our specific roster needs at that moment. They didn't have a talent problem. They had a targeting problem. They were trying to force a door open that was already locked. 🔒 Don't let a generic "D1 dream" kill your actual college opportunities. Success is finding the right fit, not just the biggest logo. We just launched a new way to help you define that reality and build a list that actually fits. …onsoccernetwork.collegeprospector.com #NCAASoccer #CollegeRecruiting #SoccerLife #StudentAthlete

@COLSOCStats Peel it back further and you’ll notice they are very close to Chattanooga and that area is becoming a soccer hotbed. Dalton is big time in soccer. Love that part of GA for the sport. Look up the New York Times article about it.

How big are the top 40 NAIA Men's Soccer Schools? As people attempt to understand why the top NAIA men's programs are so heavy International .... the student enrollment at most of these institutions may tell some of the story.... As you can see below, most of these schools are private, religious-affiliated colleges with super small student enrollments, with some being in remote locations. I would assume most American club players probably overlook most of these schools as they might not want to play at a small NAIA in the middle of nowhere, while some of the International players don't know/don't care and are mostly just here for the opportunity to play footy in the states! All enrollment data is from collegescorecard.gov

@COLSOCStats You are probably missing lots of context with some of these schools. Dalton State, for example, is in a part of GA that was heavily populated by immigration to the carpet factories. They have a lot of 1st generation students there now. Recruit local and international.

Part 2: How big are the top NAIA men's soccer schools? If you remove the 2 gigantic outliers of GA Gwinnett and Keiser, the average UG student enrollment of the top 40 NAIA men's programs is an astounding..... 1,629 students. Does this make it more difficult to secure the top American prospects to a top NAIA program? If any NAIA/men's college coaches in general would like to contribute any further insight, please share in the comments of this post and we will repost it! As always, this is never to bash programs who go heavy International...just to educate EVERYONE on stats and data in college soccer.....hence the name "College Soccer Stats"

1. Take school seriously. If you have good grades. Your recruiting process is easier. Without good grades, a good gpa and test scores you limit your opportunities. 2. Invest in your health. Fitness matters! The truth is you have to pass the eye test too. Eat healthy, well, and make sure you workout. Show that fitness and eating healthy is a part of your lifestyle 3. Return all phone calls, tweets, and emails regardless of the level of the school. 4. Understand that you are what your film says you are. So Invest in a quality camera and film maker. 5. You must strive to play at the highest level of club soccer to have the BEST chance of college soccer. (ECNL, RL, GA, MLS Next) 6. Exposure to college coaches is still, and will always be the best method of recruiting. This is why playing at elite club organizations matters and ID camps matter too. 7. If you want college soccer, there’s a place and level for everyone. But most of you will not like the level and place suited for you. When that time comes and you don’t like your options of schools, it’s okay to say no to college soccer. Go be a student and enjoy school at the schools you want. Stay tuned for more tidbits later today. #CSTruth

@COLSOCStats Just remember, spending two years at a JUCO doesn't guarantee you playing time, and if you do play, doesn't guarantee you a new home via the Portal Ask yourself how does the JUCO fit into your academic plans when your two years are up and so is your college soccer experience

All things considered, JUCO is easily one of the best paths on the men's side. 2 years cheap/free + higher % chance of early minutes + market yourself to 4 year programs for TRANSFER, bcuz thats all some of these 4 year MSOC programs are looking for anyways...
Kayla Tierney@kmtierney3

It’s astounding how little youth clubs educate their players about the JUCO level. Why don’t they? Because it’s not sexy. It’s not what attracts a 15 year old to leave their club across town and come to the other. It’s not what makes these clubs money.

@ImCollegeSoccer The absolute best way to get recruited is to have your coach/doc call a college coach who he has a relationship with and ask that coach to take a look at his player. Hopefully he can follow with she is similar to…

@ImCollegeSoccer Don’t forget at the D2 level coming to train with the current team. I’ve seen players earn their chance by having a great session against the current team and I’ve also seen players show themselves to not be at the level required. If you can you should be training with the team.

@ImCollegeSoccer @CoachGusMota Question for CST. Have a child playing ECNL. They reach out to coaches before events and get the response: “thanks for reaching out here is our next ID camp we would love to see you in person.” What’s a proper response to that when they are attending the event you emailed about?

@COLSOCStats Worth noting that many of these schools have a completely separate “Reserve” team that has its own coach and independent training and match schedule vs other reserve teams. Fairly common at smaller schools. Now, how do they communicate that to recruits? Depends on the school.😀

@kevmwatson yes!! Pro/rel would naturally self-correct itself over the 2-3 years because the best teams with the best players would rise to the top of youth soccer, without having to club-hop to another club just to play ECNL/GA/MLS Next

It’s always fascinating to see how everyone in youth soccer speaks about wanting the your game to return to the “old ways” but we continue to tip toe around it with the gatekeeper mentality as the driving force. You want simplicity- make it team based- promotion/relegation- ✅

@CoachBIV @ImCollegeSoccer 32 In-state guys on the DT. I get your in-state point but Marian (IN) is a private school, costing 43,400$ tuition & fees Now obviously guys will get academic/merit/financial aid to offset that. The point is just to spread knowledge of rosters to educate recruits man....

How many of those DT spots are IN STATE guys. In state tuition does nothing to help a school stay open. The overriding point was that the programs mentioned are only taking kids for the money. Marian is consisntely building a great program. Is it more than I'd have on a roster? Yes. But the allegations are uncalled for.

Recruits, please avoid these schools! You are being recruited to keep the school from closing down. Unfortunately this is common in a lot of D2, D3, and NAIA schools. Thank you for the research @COLSOCStats #CSTruth
