Day 7: We are well into our camp and the students have been working hard to get their competition robots ready. Today they've learned Circuit Design and incorporating it in the prototype of their competition robot. #STEM #robotics #teams @MTRCMEP @snappyxo

Day 6: At Robotics Camp today the students did the rough sketches, construction and physical prototyping of their competition robots.

Day Five: Facility Tour and Final Project Today the students took a tour of our facility, and then were briefed on their final project! The students will spend the next week building their final project robots.

Day Four: ArduinoBlue The students learned how to remotely control their robots using ArduinoBlue, an android app for motion control. #STEM #robotics #robot #technology #kids

Day Three: Programming and Motor Work Today the students learned how to program via serial numbers, and went over more in-depth programming procedures! They also learned how to use motors, and the basics of vehicle making.

Day Two: Arduino and Walking Robots Today the students learned how to program using Arduino software and hardware! Afterwards, their teams got together and built walking robots using what they had learned.

Day One: Circuits and Catapults Today marks the start of our robotics summer camp at the Composite Prototyping Center. The students were introduced to the SnappyXO platform by creating mini catapults, and learned the basics of circuitry by playing with batteries and LEDs.

Our Executive Director, Lenny Poveromo, and intern, Brian Roberts, are leaving for Knoxville, Tennessee next week for the IACMI 2018 Summer Members Meeting. They will have the opportunity to collaborate and network with the heads of materials manufacturing from across the nation!

Composites help create electric vehicles for delivery companies! Workhorse, a manufacturer of electric vehicles, has sent over 50 of its electric trucks to UPS for testing in 2018. CPC is also working with UES and UPS to design and manufacture electric trucks at our facility!

Composites are taking on the deep sea! Titan, a carbon-fiber hull submersible, has reached depths of 4000m. It's ultimate goal is to survey the wreck of the RMS Titanic next year. ow.ly/ovQY30kX4TP

Only 11 days until CPC hosts its summer robotics camp! Students will utilize SnappyXO, a low cost alternative for robotics education created by Long Island's own Stony Brook University! Are you excited? We sure are!

It was our pleasure to have @RepTomSuozzi visit our facility this past week! We look forward to working with him and Triple Five Group of Companies in progressing workforce development and investment in advanced manufacturing technology on Long Island.
