@RealPitino Thanks, coach. The USCAA, NCCAA, JUCO etc. are still in that 1980s mindset. Not 100% but still by economies of scale maintains the college environment. However, the D1 conundrum may allow for evolution that benefits the Benny Anders, Jimmy Kings etc. Overseas will grow.

Everything I'm reading from college coaches is great stuff, but what's not being said, is that it’s no longer college basketball. It's professional basketball with budgets that rival the Euroleague. So pros have trade deadlines. The G league is way below college basketball on a pay scale. Even two way players are way below. Unfortunately the game I've been in for over 40 years no longer exists.

How do I inform the Bengals of the change I’ve made?
Adam Schefter@AdamSchefter
Change in Cleveland: Browns are benching veteran QB Joe Flacco in favor of rookie QB Dillon Gabriel, per sources. The Browns were informed of the change this morning. Gabriel’s first NFL start comes Sunday in London vs. the Vikings.

Hall of fame coach George Raveling passed away yesterday. He has been a mentor and a friend throughout my entire coaching career. Not a week went by that he and I did not speak. He even made the trip to Egypt to be with me when I coached USA basketball. He was always about other people and always asked me the question “what can I do for you”. My hope is I brought him some joy as he certainly did that for me. Going to miss my friend.

Recruiting: As prospects narrow their lists and make decisions, keep the following in mind.
1. Don’t play the comparison game. It’s one game you cannot win. Stay away from counting other people’s offers. It will never help you achieve your goals.
2. Find the best fit for you based on where you are wanted and needed. Focus on the relationships, not the level of play.
3. Don’t use the recruiting process to seek attention, and don’t rush it into a hasty decision. Go through the process with purpose and transparency.

Rick Majerus on passing:
1. Advance pass: It is easy to find players who can pass in the open court.
2. It is difficult to find players who can penetrate and pitch, lob, or drop the ball effectively, especially in tight areas.
3. But it is next to impossible to find players who can feed a stationary post or a flash post, hit the cutter in stride to the basket, make a high-low pass, or find a teammate off a screen.

I coached Isaiah Thomas at the last ABCD Camp in 2006. We were one of only three teams to go undefeated in the camp’s 33-year history; Thomas was the main reason. He then went on to be a star at Washington and was selected as the 60th pick in the NBA draft. He became an NBA All-Star and enjoyed great success with longevity in the league at 5'9".
Now, it’s wonderful to see him coaching at the NBPA Top 100 Camp and doing a terrific job! He has the gift if he wants to pursue it.
A surreal full circle moment. @isaiahthomas
