@CPrimestone

"Crises teasingly hold out the possibility of dramatic reversals only to be followed by surreal continuity as the old order cadaverously fights back."

Spectator index is so washed for reporting this.

@RodericDay perhaps "quisling proletariat" if one wanted to get away from religious implications and more into the idea of self-serving fascist collaboration

America was founded to protect its business-owner rulers from the monarchy. America continues to gather and reward the most vicious and exploitative bosses in the world, for whom it is a playground. American workers, though relatively well-paid, have near-zero dignity or power.

Caste in Hinduism is also very regressive. It's also true that religion can form the backbone of anti-imperialist movements, as we've all seen on display in the Middle East. Any socialist movement is going to have to form a calculated relationship to local/national religions.

Even putting strategy briefly aside, the person in the quote tweet drawing a connection between atheism and western imperialism is just flatly incorrect, surely? The US is an infamously religious country and imperialist apologia borrows quite a lot from religious ideas.
Roderic Day@RodericDay

I am the white leftist in question. I have a sympathy and tolerance for religion and its discipline and rituals, but if you show up to a strategy meeting and attempt to speak on behalf of Mother Earth or Buddha like some superstitious ventriloquist I will kick you out myself.

>Tasnim citing a source close to the nuclear negotiation team: The claim by some Western fake news that Iran proposed a 15-year suspension of nuclear enrichment in its plan is a complete lie and a psychological operation. >Tasnim citing a source close to the negotiation team: Contrary to the claims of some Western media, there is nothing in the Iranian text about accepting the removal of enriched nuclear materials from the country.

@bidetmarxman @RodericDay Hudson is more of a Trotsky guy from what I've read of him (quite anti-Stalin), though I agree that his unusual focus on the debt jubilees of the ancient world does align quite well with a Proudhonist worldview; "We need to go back to the good ol' days before capitalism"

Back when "leftist" included Obama liberals, it was OK to call "Marxist" people who argued workers weren't inferior and that American imperialism was bad. In 2026, with "multipolarity" and naked American barbarism, I'd expect a higher baseline/minimum. I propose 2 key points.

@RodericDay Prior to this, I joined less serious leftists in critiquing the USSR and China for insufficiently ripping down the old order and not building an entirely new foundation. I hadn't really internalized that socialism is borne *from* capitalism, instead of *in spite* of it.

@RodericDay Unsure what your position is on the book "People's Republic of Walmart", but as a developing leftist it was my first real exposure to the idea that giant international corporations had already done a ton of logistics development and were, internally, bastions of cooperation.

This means understanding how "employer profit" is akin with "landlord rent" and "banker profit", and top concern. "My landlord and the bank take 90% of my salary!" No! "Your employer takes 70% of your labour. Of the leftover 30, banker and landlord take 90. You keep 3%."

To be completely honest, the fact that it's *only* 20% higher than before the war began could be indicative of some sort of supply chain issues, though that's unsurprising given the shock-and-awe strikes + blockade. It certainly wouldn't be 25%+ *reduced* over 2 months into it.

The only reason you'd be surprised by this is if you were overly absorbed in Western military production - i.e. glacially slow production of a relatively small number of unnecessarily high-tech and relatively ineffective gizmos and gadgets purely for the sake of MIC profit.

Spokesperson of the Central Headquarters of Khatam al-Anbiya: The aggressive, terrorist, and bandit American army violated the ceasefire by targeting an Iranian oil tanker ship moving from Iranian coastal waters in the Jask region towards the Strait of Hormuz, as well as another ship entering the Strait of Hormuz, opposite the port of Fujairah in the UAE. At the same time, they carried out aerial attacks on civilian areas in cooperation with some regional countries on the coasts of Bandar Khamir, Sirik, and Qeshm Island. The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran immediately retaliated by attacking American military vessels in the eastern Strait of Hormuz and south of Bandar Chabahar, inflicting significant damage on them. The criminal and aggressive America and its supporting countries must know that the Islamic Republic of Iran, as in the past, powerfully and without the slightest doubt, will deliver a crushing response to any aggression and invasion.
