Today is International Volunteer Day, and we want to celebrate the generosity and compassion of everyday Aussies who make the CRISP possible. These supporters play a vital role in helping newcomers find a sense of belonging in Australia, so thank you for all your work!

Last night, the @SCOA_Aus honoured Alison McClure with the Outstanding Volunteer Award, recognising the contributions of her, Zia Alami, and their entire support group in the settlement sector. The CRSA team couldn’t be more proud!

Last month, CRSA celebrated the milestones of 500 refugee arrivals and 1000 community members involved in the CRISP. All 1500 people have contributed to the establishment of community refugee sponsorship in Australia, transforming lives and communities in the process.

This year I volunteered as a member of the Community Refugee Integration & Settlement Pilot @CRSA_Aus, we supported the Al Habra family to settle in Bass Coast. On Monday, I attended the screening of #BackRoads on @ABCTV and caught up with both the Al Habras and the Ali family, who featured in the show! Earlier this year, we set the goal of reaching 100 new group commitments in the 100 days before #WorldRefugeeWeek. And while we didn't get to 100, we got real close. The CRSA team look forward to guiding the 79 new groups of locals through their community sponsorship journey!
