A CGS-M is the *same* now as I got in 2005 ($17,500/year). My rent for a 1-bed. apartment was $750/month. Just looked up a similar unit, now $1800/month. I care about the future of science. We need to support graduate students if we want to recruit trainees. #SupportScience

A PhD student in 2022 with a Tricouncil award receives $21,000. The cost of living at the poverty line in Montreal that year is $27,948. Adding in-province tuition ($6864) means a total of $34,812 = student $13,812 in debt.
