Developed nations have met the $100 billion/year climate finance goal for three consecutive years — but the headline number doesn't tell the full story. 👉Mitigation finance still dominates; adaptation finance is growing, but slowly 👉73% of public climate finance is delivered as loans, not grants, and concessional bilateral lending is declining 👉Private finance rose in 2024, but low-income countries received just 3% of it With new climate finance goals (NCQG) on the horizon and rising climate finance needs, the goalposts have already shifted. Watch @SehrRaheja from @CSE_Climate's decode the key messages and issues of concern from the new @OECD report in the explainer below⬇️ youtube.com/watch?v=cx4ZbA…

"While the headline total figure of climate finance remains alright, declining bilateral climate spending raises important questions about the predictability of high-quality, concessional public finance, which has consistently been a key demand of the Global South.” Reacting to the latest climate finance report by @OECD, @SehrRaheja, programme officer, @CSE_Climate spoke to @ClimateHome. "Private capital continues to follow bankability rather than climate vulnerability or need," she added. Read the full piece: climatechangenews.com/2026/05/21/new…
