#Update: Fire is contained. Crews are mopping up hotspots. The cause is under investigation.

#ColoradoSpringsFire is on scene of a #workinggrassfire in the area of Town Center Dr and Wooten Rd Crews on scene report an approx 40 x 40ft grass fire spreading. Please avoid the area as crews respond.

#ColoradoSpringsFire is responding mutual aid to a fire on I-25 just south of Baptist Rd. Monument Fire is lead on this fire.

#Update Fire is now extinguished, small kitchen fire in a basement unit. E1 made quick work with an aggressive fire attack. Tower 1 rescued a small dog and she is doing great and giving out plenty of hugs. Fire is under investigation and crews will be in the area for the next few hours.

#ColoradoSpringsFire is on scene of a #workingfire on the 700 block of east Cimerron Street. E1 and TWR1 have reported a basement fire.

We are happy to share on behalf of the SW HWY 115 Fire Protection District- crews hiked to the fire line early this morning, and it is now 100% contained.

🔥Rocky Creek Canyon Fire Update🔥 SW HWY 115 Fire Protection District just updated the containment level to 80%, with lines holding and favorable conditions throughout the day. Crews continue on the ground to ensure all hot spots are eliminated and the fire lines hold.

Great news! Crews are making significant progress on the Rock Creek Canyon Fire, and now is at over 50% containment. Crews will continue to work on the ground in the following days to ensure the safety of the surrounding community.

Today, ground crews will be working on the Rock Creek Canyon fire and will push for higher containment levels. According to NWS, conditions are better, with higher humidity levels and possible precipitation expected. As of now, there are no burned structures and no road closures.

Every crew needs a good leader… apparently ours has four legs. 🐐🔥 While working on the Rock Creek Fire, our firefighters got an unexpected escort from a very determined goat who led them toward the fire area and helped with some fuel mitigation along the way. We’re not saying he’s ready for a badge… but we’re also not saying he isn’t. 😂

🚨 Rock Creek Canyon Fire Update 🚨 This evening, drone operators from our Office and the @CSFDPIO flew over the area and confirmed the fire remains well contained at this time. Residents in the area should note: there may be minor smoking or hot spots in the area.
