My address at the 2nd Foundation Day of 'Anusandhan' National Research Foundation': Key Takeaways: "India’s research ecosystem is entering a decisive new phase, with the 'Anusandhan' National Research Foundation #ANRF emerging as a catalyst for globally aligned, mission-driven, partnership-based research and innovation. ANRF sets course for India’s innovation-led journey to 2047, strengthening R&D driven economic growth. It is a rare institutional reform shaped through sustained deliberations and wide-ranging consultations; designed after studying global research models while creating a framework suited to India’s scientific, social, and cultural context. Post-pandemic world has renewed international interest in indigenous knowledge systems. India is, therefore, uniquely positioned to contribute original research perspectives, including in areas where traditional knowledge complements modern science. ANRF differs from conventional research funding agencies, by being a fund generating enabler. It emphasises collaboration across disciplines and sectors, including the non-government sector. Early response to the Foundation’s programmes, particularly the strong participation from the private sector, signals a gradual shift in India’s research culture and mindset from silos to outcome-oriented collaboration".

Addressed Annual Atal Innovation Incubator Conclave "AIM SUMVAAD" at Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi. Linked "Atal Innovation Mission" with the @narendramodi government's thrust on innovation led growth and scalable #StartUps. Significantly, the Budget 2026–27 also gives momentum to Startups and women-centric entrepreneurship or Self Help Entrepreneurs (SHE), with focus on 'ease of doing business'. India’s Startup count jumps from 350 to over 2 Lakh as Biomanufacturing emerges as a new growth engine in the Budget narrative.

#Udhampur #Kaladi: Discussed with  Director "Central Food Technology Research Institute" (CSIR-CFTRI), Mysuru, Dr. Giridhar Parvatam the options and possible methodologies to upscale "Kaladi", the GI-tagged traditional dairy product from Udhampur district in Jammu & Kashmir, for wider food applications and recipes, while strictly preserving its original flavour, texture, and nutritional identity. It is the same institute that recently developed successful technology to upscale Millet which is now being offered in different recipes by the popular McDonald's outlets. The limited shelf life is the biggest constraint in expanding "Kaladi" beyond local markets and therefore, improving shelf life through scientific validation, proper packaging, and processing, without altering its core properties, is essential for marketability and export potential. The wide scope for food recipe diversification, including fresh consumption, functional forms and alternative culinary applications can be tried, provided the traditional milky flavour, mouthfeel, and stretchable texture of Kaladi are retained.
