But here he doesn’t, and many followers leave over this teaching. Why not clarify if it’s just a parable?

Why would a mere symbol carry such spiritual power as to cause illness or death if profaned, as in verse 30?

The Greek trōgō (chew) has never been used in any sense to mean “to think.” Secondly Paul is warning in 1 Cor 11:27-31 not to invoke God’s wrath by profaning the Eucharist.

He even uses the verb that means “chew” on His flesh, indicating a physical act involved in consuming His body. Chew on that.

I got my degrees in secular history and had never really studied the early church. Once I did I was shocked. It’s all Catholic.
