I like Hunter Dietz, his profile, his value. But it’s reasonable to point out that while NYY consistently builds value with pitching, they have had a markedly worse track record with early round arms than with early round bats

Why risk what has been a stellar 1st half by shlit to just gas out on a throw day in a meaningless game and have an injury creep up.
A throw day I mind you he typically isn’t going 💯 % every throw.

Cam Schlittler has declined pitching in the All-Star Game, per @GJoyce9 Schlittler, who is fully healthy, expressed concerns about pitching in the game on his usual throw day. He wants to make sure he's good to go for the second half. He will still be at the event in Philly

BREAKING: Long-time @ccsubaseball head coach Charlie Hickey is retiring, and long-time Blue Devils assistant Pat Hall is taking over as head coach, I'm told. High school season.
Travel ball.
Showcases.
Camps.
Kids are running on empty.
They’re expected to perform year-round with little time to recover, train, or actually develop.
More games don’t automatically create better players. More exposure doesn’t matter if the athlete is too fatigued to perform.
Tired athletes don’t get stronger. They don’t throw harder. They don’t stay healthy.
At some point, we have to ask if the current system is developing athletes or just wearing them out.

@CS_Pxp I think it's important that we acknowledge that even if a choice school has 250 boys we can't assume that is the same as Oxford. Even if a choice school isn't a perennial powerhouse their ability to recruit lends itself to a very different potential than a small public school.

See I don’t think it’s so much private schools having their own div, rather it’s having the formula that places them in the proper class/div.
As the world continues to change we’ve already seen some priv schools close (SH, Trinity Catholic). Times are tough for people.

One idea is having coaches and select media apart of the process if the formula was to go that route. Discuss transfers, grad, rising talents as factors.
Could make it like a live selection show, be on local cable/youtube or some live streaming service with sponsors. #cthsfb

Got it. Let’s punish the kids who are just now entering the Varsity ranks who didn’t even play the previous year with the results of kids they didn’t even know or talk to. Also, let’s put a 20 something man roster in an unsafe position in a game based on physicality against bigger schools with more players. Football is different than hoops. In hoops one or two players make a difference on the field of competition. This state is delusional at best and makes a cup of water complex. Absolute Gong Show.

According to the Ciac bylaws in their packet it states success in tournament for school of choice. Defined by last 3 years.
“If a school has reached the semi-finals in
one of those three years that school will be moved up two divisions.”
