Of the 8 GOP party priorities last session, Mr. Burrow killed 6 of them and passed, charitably 2 of them. That's an F! Border security and parental school choice bills were watered down waaaay more than needed with a GOP majority. Abraham George had the right priorities! They were at odds with a Speaker elected by 49 leftists & 36 fake-GOP. That's the record.

For only the second time in Texas history, the sitting Speaker of the Texas House will address delegates at our State Convention. Speaker Burrows is also stepping forward as a sponsor of the convention as well. That has never happened before. Before Speaker Burrows held office, he was a delegate and a precinct chair. He’s sat in those same seats, had those same conversations, and understands exactly what it means to show up and help shape the future of Texas. We are grateful for his willingness to not only support this convention, but to be part of it in a way that respects and recognizes the delegates who make this party strong. We look forward to welcoming Speaker Burrows to the 2026 Texas Republican Convention and to a historic moment for our party and our state. @Burrows4TX

Sure. Lots. Oddly enough, folks seem to miss that “SPONSOR FOR CONVENTION” piece. The currency is not hot air - it’s green stuff. IF he’s willing to spend his campaign dollars on a chance to stand before the conservatives who were banned from THEIR gallery when he was elected and then sworn in as speaker of the Texas House, then I say more power to him. What if he’s signaling that he’d like to listen rather than lecture - dialogue without drama? What better way to begin than in a place where we row in the same direction?

Mr. Burrows could go a long way toward mending fences with conservatives by endorsing Ken Paxton and donating the maximum to his election bid. He can pledge no more Dem chairs. And he can pledge that Republicans and only Republicans will choose their leaders. I’ve not changed my positions.

Terri, I’m not sure why you’re angry at me. I’ve said nothing that isn’t 100% true. You may condemn me for being America-first and for my belief that being “Republican” doesn’t mean getting Democrat approval and installing Democrat chairs and reconfiguring the House so Dem power is maintained. Hey Chris! So the RPT asks all legislators and elected officials to help sponsor the state convention to help offset the cost for delegates and alternates. Speaker Burrows stepped up in a big way to help this year. Perhaps it would serve us all to remember we are PRO-Republican first. Maybe report on all the legislators who chose NOT to support the grassroots and the state convention.
