It’s not an isolated event. Colonialism starts a domino effect. Just an example. Imagine England is as prosperous as a country can be. They get colonized by China. In the process looted and enslaved to the point everyone is suffering. Then suddenly the colonists withdraw because they cannot take care of the country. Leaving behind a huge power vacuum in the midst of absolute chaos because the colonial state was pretty much running this. Rising above this situation is very difficult especially if the population is already divided (because that’s how the colonists got to conquer the country in the first place). Those divisions only get stronger in times like this. And thus ensues fights, killings, disagreements on every damn thing. The seeds of which were planted by colonists.
