Okay, I've played a lot more now. It defiantly has some RDR2 influences in how it delivers story. i.e. riding next to a character while they do exposition. Gameplay wise there are some minor FarCry beats in that you can take attack and take over points of interest, they can get retaken though. Apparently it has some BotW and TotK influences but I've not played either them. Overall I'm really enjoying it. The story isn't actually bad, but it's not delivered well in terms of dialogue. But the sheer breadth of content and size of the world is fantastic.
