Given first proper polling shows this is a straight Labour v Reform fight unlike Gorton and Denton and that Greens have no actual candidate after last one stepped down, there is a strong case for Green Party sitting this out out to stop Reform winning. Precedent exists in 2017

I’m from the UK…. If you can afford it, buy an AC unit. “But it’s only for 2 weeks in a year” No it isn’t. It’s from now until the middle of August. An AC unit costs like £325 from Argos. Best purchase I ever made in the UK.

Please be patient to UK content creators We are currently being hit with a pretty intense heatwave, meaning we'll probably be working a tad slower, have less energy and may even need to take a break from our PCs to prevent them from overheating Also none of this "Well we have it hotter over here" bs: - UK heat is built different - Most of us don't have ACs since we rarely NEED them for most of the year - Our houses are built to keep heat in due to how cold our weather can get - We aren't as used to hot weather given how 80% of the year, UK weather isn't hot We're not trying to dispute who has it worse/hotter, we just want patience and understanding 🙏

@halcyonorder @anakinsdream The "downfall of the Jedi" is a theme. "The Jedi were massacred in Order 66" is an event. Anyway... I rather understand what you mean by 10 to 100, but that's orthogonal to what I think works well about it. I'll explain.

@PixelAloha @anakinsdream The downfall of the jedi is an event. A theme in that case would be that arrogance can blind you and lead to downfall. Anakin goes from "It's not the Jedi way", to helping to kill one man in a moment of desperation, to the cold blooded slaughtering a room full of children.

@PixelAloha @anakinsdream But you didn't post the themes, you posted events. And I wouldn't say those themes don't also exist in RotJ, just handed in a different way. Anakin's downfall in RotS is not handled well, it goes from 10 to 100 in the blink of an eye.

@halcyonorder @anakinsdream The downfall of the Jedi, Republic, and particularly of Anakin is easily the most emotionally harrowing sequence of the entire series. I've loved ESB + ROTJ's Vader/Luke stuff since before there were prequels, but now it feels a bit shallow as an followup to ROTS depth of pathos

@halcyonorder @anakinsdream I've just watched them both back to back and that isn't as evident from the actual quality of the films as is asserted. There's a lot of pretense and gatekeeping involved in saying one is genius and the other is not. The OT is often lite fun, while ROTS aims at deeper themes.

On line of best fit it's an accurate description for at least two of the films, and it's inaccurate and unfair to say it's rooted in misogyny. If you want some examples of well written (and genuinely strong) female characters in space, I'd highly recommend The Expanse. I'd highly recommend that show anyway.

@Xuanathame PvP multiplayer in DS is just an annoyance. Almost every Invasion I had in DS3 was someone who only wanted the fight if I was already engaged in PvE.
