@CommonS37481141 @SaerSleeper @ivvanex Driver updates ate no difference to a system updates on a console. Sliders are optional. And in over 30 years of PC gaming, I've never had a graphics driver break regular software.

@halcyonorder @SaerSleeper @ivvanex In ways that you probably think are fine....like adjust sliders and downloading drivers for different and new games while it breaks your regular software (one of the many joys I went through while giving it a shot).

@swissch33z @TheDezembro Everyone on PC plays digitally. And even back in the 360/PS3 days (when I was a multiplatfirm gamer) I always installed my console games to the HDD. I'm not saying the industry should go all digital, just that plenty of people won't play from disc.

@TheDezembro Who the fuck is primarily buying their games digitally? Indie games maybe, but who has the hard drive space for several big AAA games? Do they only have two games? Do they buy new hard drives after more than that? Do they just keep deleting their games?

The "gAmErS cHoSe ThIs" narrative trying to justify the *END* of physical media is really funny. So is the idea that this is "physical-only crowd" vs "digital-only crowd". The average gamer engages with both options depending on game, price and convenience and they don't want an entire chunk of the market to be terminated. Digital is still where most purchases are made these days but the physical OPTION is clearly valued in the console world. Twitter discourse around this is fucking filled with botfarms and retards trying to create a false consensus that only like fkin 12 people are "still buying games on disc". Why is it that SOME data gets acknowledged as player preference, but other data like the disc-console preference and the disc-drive sales doesn't??

@MrDachi87 50%-90% sales doesn't do damage to publishers. Publishers are the ones who choose to list their games in sales at those prices.

Someone was telling me that Game Pass is shit and at the same time boasting about how he waits for 50% - 90% discounts before he buys games, not understanding that does even more damage to the devs and publishers.

Hell, the last problem I had on my PC was that a button on the controller wasn't working properly. It was an XBox controller that had developed a physical fault.

I just enjoy the endless benefits it has over console. Console's simplicity is for lazy days when I don't feel like dealing with PC problems

@SaerSleeper @ivvanex Yeah I tried it as an alternative to Xbox. It sucks. Most people use steam and then all these stores have the same games with less of a catalogue. It's such a bad experience too. So disjointed hasn't changed conceptually since I was a kid minus the digital.
