In honor of K-9 Veterans Day, @CTNationalGuard Soldiers with the 928th Military Working Dog Detachment recognize the lasting impact military working dogs have on their handlers and the communities they serve.

#CTNG service members, family, and friends of MWD Mischa gathered March 6 at Camp Nett to pay their last respects during Mischa’s memorial service. Mischa, part of the 928th MWD Detachment, passed away in January 2026. He had served alongside his handler, Sgt. Kevin O’Connell.
