Delighted that Wales has become the first UK nation to ban greyhound racing. A huge tribute to the charities, campaigners and activists behind #CutTheChase. Racing will now be phased out by 2030, ending a practice that caused suffering for the benefit of the gambling industry.

The consequence of this is stark as Plaid, the Tories and the Lib Dem’s ganged up to knock down a new law that offers stronger protections for retail and emergency workers. It takes tougher action on anti-social behaviour and violence, and gives better support to vulnerable people in our communities. One would think legal protections for these workers would not be controversial. But once again, Plaid led the charge in choosing to focus on a constitutional argument instead of supporting practical protections for workers and communities.

What is the logic in rejecting a bill which gives protections to retail and emergency service workers… ?
