The recent suspensions of prominent civil society organizations (CSOs) such as the Ethiopian Human Rights Council (EHRCO) and the Ethiopian Human Rights Defenders Center (EHRDC), among others, highlight a deeply concerning escalation of repression in Ethiopia. These actions undermine the essential role of CSOs in promoting transparency, accountability, and the safeguarding of human rights.
