Last season there was a point when we were 6 points behind Arsenal. We had no pre-season and no rest after the Club World Cup. But Enzo Maresca still managed to put us in this position. We were never title contenders, but he made us look like one. Even when Caicedo got a red card, we dominated Arsenal at Stamford Bridge with 10 men. That showed exactly how good Maresca is. Then in December we had a bad run and everyone thought Maresca wasn’t good enough. Most Chelsea fans wanted him out. He requested players, especially a CB, but the board got him Sarr instead, which led to all sorts of misunderstandings. That quick decision to sack Maresca ruined our whole season and has pushed the whole project backwards. The season has ended and this is a wake-up call. Now Xabi Alonso is the new manager. All Chelsea need is patience and time to let a plan actually work.
