@lauraxsimons I am so sorry you have to go through this. I have never had to deal with this but know others close to me that have. It is very hard but ultimately your sanity and mental health needs to take precedent.

Schools where students can walk in and out of lessons as and when they like, routinely argue with teachers, dispute basic instructions, swear, shout across rooms and in corridors, roam around in gangs AND where teachers are still scrutinised to hell and back... ❌

@OverthrowingEd Middle school English teacher here: my policy is if you didn’t finish it in class, then it becomes homework. Typically this only happens if a student is not using class time wisely. If the whole group is ruffling we extend the lesson as needed which eliminates homework as well.

Educators and parents (or both): I'd love to hear your thoughts on homework. Also are there any middle or high school teachers out there who give little to no homework? Thinking about doing an episode on homework for my podcast Overthrowing Education. Thoughts?
