As a software engineer, I find commercial mobile (and some desktop webapps) apps (groceries, healthcare, crowdfunding secondary apps like Pledgebox) to be excruciating. I touch a button, look at the results and scream "Why would you do that?!" The UI flows are Byzantine and retarded. My grocery store app dunned me to make my newly-entered payment method "primary". Dude, if there's only one, it's primary, trust me. Then when I went to check out, it wanted me to select a payment method from the one, then popped up a box asking if I wanted to make it primary. I said yes, and it returned me to the select payment method. I select, and get the make-it-primary prompt again. Several iterations demonstrate that neither yes nor no will work. This while the hotly- contested pick-up time slot is expiring. Eventually I break the cycle of failure by adding a second credit card. Fortunately, being rich, I have two. (If I was poor, I'd have 12, all with balances). Then there's the "pay bills" section of my banking app. You have to have microscopic fingers to select the last payee in the alphabetic list, because the button to launch the next step floats over the last item selection item displayed. I'm tempted to create a phony payee named "Zzzzzzzz"...
