@sethjoyner Think of mental toughness as a muscle, built by leaning into discomfort, then allowing for recovery. Stress, then rest, then growth. That's the formula. 🧠

@C_Bright_Run How else is mental toughness built or developed! We don't come here with it built into our DNA!

Question of the day: I know that Mental Health is a real issue! The question is, how does one build mental toughness? Is it not through enduring hardships, being psychologically, physically, and intellectually pushed to our limits, and facing our greatest fears and difficulties? I believe we live in a ever changing time and era. The hardships, failures, and disappointments of life are what makes a person mentally strong! Knowing that failure is NOT an option, is what continues to drive me as much today, as when I was a 17 yr old! Take care of your mental health, whatever it takes! But be sure to build your mental toughness along the way, by facing life's challenges so that you can overcome whatever life throw in your path today, and in your future! Peace & Blessings 👊🏾🙏🏾

@sethjoyner We are looking at the same coin from two sides. If mental toughness is built by facing what we fear, then those navigating mental health challenges are developing a deep capacity for resilience that is built one difficult moment at a time.

@C_Bright_Run Please show me where I stated that people with mental health issues are not mentally strong? Will you guys read thing in context, rather than trying to bend it to a different narrative or agenda? Geez

@Alan_Couzens 🙏🏻@Alan_Couzens. Curious to know your thoughts on the top-down periodization approach, utilized in the ultra community; aerobic development, VO2 max development, lactate threshold work, then the most specific work for the event, which is high volume and low intensity.

Related to my post from yesterday, and related to something that I read on Stephen's old website some 30 years ago, when you consider the time course of different training adaptations... Traditional periodization is just the plain ol' smart way to play it!

So many complain about being so low on energy that they don’t work out. Fun fact: your energy is low BECAUSE you don’t work out. Movement is medicine. Get it done.

@usatf Reading the rules regarding the responsibility for athletes to know the course, even under the circumstance of a lead vehicle error, it is clear why USATF is passing the responsibility on to the event organizer.

@itssnick @GeoffPMosher Correct. The simple idea of a team is lost and obscured in the bluster of variables like contracts, comparisons, money, and statistics.

You can argue about elite QBs until you're blue in the face. But your team really doesn't need one to win. Good is more than good enough with the right fit. Just look at the Eagles and Seahawks: phillyvoice.com/eagles-jalen-h…

@Ike58Reese The deep shots on 3rd and short, which fell incomplete, as opposed to higher percentage passes and runs, did this team in today. These decisions halted drives. Incomprehensible, especially with the way Bigsby was running.

@YBrandspiegel @Jeff_McLane The offense is awful, but it was great in the first half against the Bills? The players that aren't playing well are the same players that won the Super Bowl? I am sure you aren't clueless, but it is difficult to understand your point with the contradictions in your posts.

@C_Bright_Run @Jeff_McLane Absolutely clueless. The offense was doing just fine until Sirianni/Patullo did their conservative nonsense in the second half and the play calls didn’t give anyone a chance. Like they have done all season and we r still putting blame on the players who won a Super Bowl months ago

#Eagles are expected to rest QB Jalen Hurts and most starters in the season finale vs. the Commanders, sources told The Inquirer. Shouldn’t come as a surprise based on HC Nick Sirianni’s comments when asked about the benefit of having a “bye” week heading into the playoffs.

@YBrandspiegel @Jeff_McLane My dude. And why are we barely winning games? And not dominating at the OL like last year, which led to those wins? OL is banged up. Rest = increased capacity to do what we do best. You can't have it both ways; identify the way in which we win, and criticize this decision.

Coming to realize a lean BMI of 24-25 (19-20FFMI+5FMI) makes nobody happy. Not big enough for the strength guys. Not small enough for the endurance guys. Turns out the best way to piss everyone off is to be moderate 🤷‍♂️
