If all the news about the hantavirus outbreak has you searching for something you can do: wear a mask; and if this passes and it turns out you don’t need it to protect yourself from a hantavirus pandemic, it will still protect you from the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

It’s a question more and more people are asking. Constant colds. Lingering coughs. Getting sick again just weeks later. Feeling like your body never fully resets. This isn’t just “seasonal illness” anymore. Multiple airborne viruses continue to circulate year-round, while many indoor spaces still lack clean, well-ventilated air. Repeated infections can take a toll on the immune system and increase the risk of long-term health impacts, including Long COVID. The good news: cleaner indoor air, better ventilation, filtration, testing, and masking in crowded spaces can meaningfully reduce risk. Awareness matters. Prevention still matters. #InfectionPrevention #PublicHealth #LongCOVID #COVID #COVID19 #AirborneVirus

Even when the CDC indicates that a state has "Very Low" COVlD levels, it is important to note that there are sometimes still hotspots. The CDC uses the state's median (middle value). If 51% of wastewater sites are "Very Low," the whole state will use that category.

May 4, 2026 (PMC COVID Update) SARS-CoV-2 transmission has slowly declined to an estimated 180,000 new daily infections. This is the lowest estimate since July 13, 2021. It's 3x the pandemic low of late May 2021. 🧵THREAD 1/4

It’s so fucking crazy that everyone literally has l0ng c0v1d and we’re just supposed to pretend that chronic fatigue and memory loss and cancer and strokes and heart attacks are just part of being in your 30s like girl

It's the day of the month where I ask myself if I'm crazy to be thinking that people are getting sicker and sicker, and then the NHS Staff sickness absence rate data comes out and the answer is: No, I'm not crazy, and yes, people are just getting sicker and sicker.

Team worked hard and diligently on this one. Still some more updates to come as well. As I mentioned in the post, it's the kind of tool that would actually be better if it wasn't needed (and that's our goal). However, one of the biggest strengths of WooCommerce is its incredible flexibility and that does mean that not only bugs in the software, but also conflicts from other plugins, unintentional customization impact (or configuration misteps) can cause unexpected changes to critical flows like Subscriptions. Visibility is super important for businesses to succeed. That's a message we've heard loud and clear.

“It would be ridiculous if I needed to bring my own hand soap to an appointment and remind my doctors to wash their hands before a physical examination, and yet it has become my responsibility to manage my care in this way.”

Patients have an expectation that when they visit a healthcare setting, they will leave in better shape than when they came in. However, many people end up with healthcare-associated infections. bit.ly/4eRAz0B
