Baseball season in Texas is OFFICIALLY underway with the first action coming back. Manvel’s @ManvelBaseball Jesus Merlo @J_Merlo10 overpowered Terry @BFTerry_BSBL on Monday, striking out 12 in four innings as the Mavericks pulled away for a 10-5 win at B.F. Terry High School. Merlo allowed two hits and two runs, walking one, and set the tone early with consistent swing-and-miss stuff. Manvel did its damage in the middle innings, taking the lead for good in the second before adding a four-run third. At the plate, Christian Hamilton @C_Hamilton8 led the Mavericks’ lineup, going 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and three RBIs. Gabriel Roberts @GabeRoberts27 added an RBI double and drew two walks, while Jacob Jimenez and Dylan Lam each finished with two hits. Manvel also showed patience all game, piling up 11 walks. For Terry, Geraldo Rodriguez @GRoddagod went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Nicholas Herrera, Jasiah Buentello @JojoB_61 , and Ian Barrera each recorded a hit, and the Rangers turned two double plays defensively. On the mound, Aiden Lopez @aidenlopez23 started for Terry, and Ian Barrera took the loss in relief.
