Bennett just hits. He’s one of the most pure hitters in the class and is underrated. Solid defender at 3rd, will probably stay there or move to 2nd in the future. He’s an all around competitor. Going to be a solid bat for any program.

Benitez dominated on the bump against a solid lineup. The FB sat 87-89 T90 x 5, and had a sharp CB in the 77-80 range. He also had 2 doubles on the day showing he has true 2-way potential. Josh had scouts in attendance intrigued, definitely a underrated guy out of Corpus Christi.

Joshua Benitez (‘27, TX) was a commanding presence over 4 strong innings. He K’d 8 while only allowing 2 earned on the back of an upper 80’s fastball that touched 90 a couple times, as well as a sharp curveball sitting in the upper 70’s. The Magnolia product showed out today. FB was 84-86 T89 with a + curveball. He showed excellent command landing first pitch strikes with the FB and put hitters away with the CB. Even when he fell behind in counts he battled. Going to be an interesting guy to watch in the future.

Reid isn’t a force to be reckoned with. He receives and moves extremely well behind the plate. His bat was on display with a no doubt grand slam in a big inning. He has a projectable frame that’ll only increase the power and hit tools at the next level.
