I don’t think Rihanna genuinely has an issue with Tyla at all. It seems more like she doesn’t appreciate how much Tyla’s label/team have pushed the “New Rihanna” narrative through the algorithm for their own benefit while Tyla was just breaking into the industry. The comparisons made them alot of money off her image and legacy, yet she doesn’t get anything from it. I think since she’s been done with music & sees everything as a mogul. She knows any ounce of public attention she might give to Tyla will fund her label/team pockets by the millions. Rihanna saying “she’s occupied” is now all over the algorithm when she said only two words because she knew it will bubble down to this

Yeah, that’s exactly it. everything is extremely carefully planned, branded, and rolled out by a massive team. That’s elite curation and marketing execution. My point is that level of corporate-level strategy + nonstop push is what makes her a megastar product, not raw artistic vision or solo songwriting/musicianship. Plenty of artists create thoughtfully too, but without the same machine behind them.

The Funny Chef was ostracised and eventually fired from OPW because she didn’t speak isiZulu. Then you had Bo LaC and Thembisa who didn’t speak any of the Sotho languages but went on to present for a couple seasons.
